Brunch, Lunch & Beyond
Begin the day with a hearty brunch. Choose from ‘on toast’ or ‘rostis’ topped with the likes of Severn & Wye smoked salmon, hollandaise sauce and poached eggs; vine cherry tomatoes with spinach and avocado; and the classic Somerset House full English with black pudding, cured bacon and Lishman’s chipolata sausages.
Lunchtime locals can snack on a delicious selection of sensational sarnies including salt and vinegar battered fish butty; classic club; and rare roast beef with horseradish cream and rocket, or indulge in sharing platters of British meat and fish.
Come the evening, start with small plates of chicken liver and Madeira parfait with spiced beetroot and orange chutney; deep-fried mozzarella with tomato, tarragon and rosemary ragu; and daily soups with local Bondgate of Otley Bread. Mains are kept classic and include East Coast line-caught battered haddock and chips with peas and tartare sauce; 8oz North Yorkshire rib-eye steak with confit tomato, bearnaise sauce and hand-cut chips; 10oz Wensleydale gammon steak with pineapple and poached egg.
No meal would be complete without something sweet; enjoy sticky toffee and ginger pudding with butterscotch sauce or lemon tart with Northern Bloc lemon sorbet, sitting amongst other treats.
On Sundays, enviable roasts are on offer with a choice of chicken, beef or pork belly, served with all the trimmings, whilst vegetarians can opt for a butternut squash and nut roast.
